International 1st Vice President Brother Jonathan Mason Thank You

On behalf of the Men of Xi Sigma Alumni Chapter of Central Indiana, I would like to thank our International 1st Vice President Brother Jonathan Mason for his sacrifice of time and coin to be with us for our 2009 Fall Joint State Meeting held this week-end. I would also like to thank and congratulate our State Director Brother Eric Williams and our Indiana State Director for Zeta Phi Beta Soror Beryl Borel for a successful event. Neither, Phi Beta Sigma or Zeta Phi Beta needed the other to pull off a State meeting, however, because they did, we had another opportunity to strengthen the bonds of our family in Indiana. We are the greatest asset of Zeta Phi Beta Sigma. I thank you Bro. Williams and Soror Borel for the wisdom of your idea and the courage to implement.

In addition to Soror Beryl Borel, I also would like to thank my dear Sisters, Soror Londra Dufor and Soror Kimber Monford-Hall. You two are simply incredible givers. You give beyond time and money. You exceed my expectations over and over again. I sometime dread to make that call, but I know you both will always deliver. Special thanks to the Blue & White Unity Coalition for putting together the events for Circle City Classic. I want to recognize Soror Loretta, Geri, Taffy, Pam, and already mentioned Beryl, Londra and Kimber, plus Brothers Danny McSpadden, Willie Pritchett, Yancy Hollonquest, Eric Williams and Jerry Mooney. Plus, Bro. Marcus McCray that was splitting time this year between the Colts and our newest prospect, his baby boy Maison; we know you will be with us when soon. They did a wonderful job, with just three weeks before Classic. Next year, under the leadership of Danny and Taffy, it should really be off the hook. Ya’ll better start planning early!!! Thanks to our Regional Director Bro. Lezell Lowe and our Vice Regional Director Bro. Maurice Black for serving as our guest for the parade. Thanks again to Bro. Maurice Black for watching the hospitality suite when we were unavailable and making everyone feel like family.

I also would like to recognize and thank my Brother and fraternal son, Bro. Yancy Hollonquest. A leader more mature than his years, Bro. Yancy did an incredible job of organizing, setting-up and tearing down for Black Expo and Circle City Classic. Yancy has been my MVP of the summer. He wrote the first draft and outline of the Sigma Beta grant that we were awarded. He has taken pictures and designed many of the creative elements for our events, but more than that he has been reliable. He has been there! Even though he lives in Lafayette, he has been there when we needed him.

I thank the active and or financial members of Xi Sigma. We are on the move, Brothers. The Sigma Beta Club, the Ransom House and soon our 501. Thanks for you hard work and dedication to making good on your pledge to Sigma.

Congrats to the host Collegiate Chapter, Epsilon Iota-Indiana University for good meeting.  Also to the other chapters in attendance, thank you for being there. I hope you at least came away with ONE piece of advice from our International 1st Vice President Brother Jonathan Mason, or from our Past Regional Director Arnald Beckwith or from and Sigma or Zeta in attendance. If you do not, then it is a day wasted. So here is my call to action.

We have something magical in Indiana. Mark your calendars and lace up your booths, because I have one very simple request for ALL Sigma Men and Zeta Women.

TOTAL DOMINATION of Indiana by the Blue and White Family! Total Domination of Indianapolis and every campus from IUNW to Evansville!

All we have to do is commit to one year, right now, of financial support, service support and Brother and Sister support. One year of doubling the contribution you gave last year. So if you are un-financial, get financial. If you are in-active, get active! If you lead a committee, really lead that committee. If you are Londra, Loretta, Shavon, Beryl or Eric; keep leading and developing future leaders.

Finally, you know a Brother or Sister than is inactive. Bring them back. If you are inactive, come on back. Let’s make 2009-2010 the year we begin the domination of Indiana. The year, we shall exemplify the ideas of culture for service and service to humanity and begin our legacy for our community.

Let me know if you are with me. Especially these Brothers;

Dr. Ackles, Carlos bates, Ben, Lamar Betts, Rev. Brown, Ron Butler, Ron Reese, James Byers, Marshall Byers, Jay Collins, Johnny Crowell, Tony Favors, Carmen Edwards, James Embry, Rodney Flynn, Andre Franklin, Karl Fredrickson, Dr. French, Chris Grace, Greg Graham, Jay Graves, Jimmy Graves, John Graves, James Griffin, James Harrell, Brian Hill, Carl Horton, Terenco Houston, Dr. Hunter, Cepeda Jackson, Bobby Jefferson, Monty Jenkins, Jay Jernigan, Anthony King, Terry Lovely, Brian Major, Damon Martin, Arnald Mickens, Brain Moore, Todd Nailon, James Oglesby, Fernando Patterson, Nick Perry, Bryant Reed, Mike Rogers, Kevin Shipp, Crandal Shumpert, JT Simpson, Ryan Smith, Marvin Smith, Michael Terry, Ponce Tidwell, Kevin White, Cedric Wilson and Carl Winston.

That is just a few of the 178 Men of Sigma I have on my roster. So if you are on the list, we need you.  If you know a brother on the list, bring them back.

For the Cause,

Andre M Arnold
